Why get Tested?

Fluoride is not the only potentially toxic component in dental and orthopedic products.  More than 100 different chemicals are used to manufacture products that are placed permanently in the human mouth.  It is estimated that 80% of chronic diseases are caused by dental toxins. Anybody can have a reaction to any material. There simply is no material that is safe for everybody. If you are unsure which products will be biocompatible for you (not make you sick in the long run), have yourself tested AND STUDY ALL THE FACTS!

Toxicity occur when dental or orthopedic materials placed in a patient’s mouth or body cause that person’s immune system to react and “reject” the restoration since the components are not the same as one’s own tissues.

Reactivity to materials can be compared to food allergies. While many people have no problems with a substance such as gluten (found in bread), there is a percentage of the population who will have an allergic reaction to these foods. After all, people can manage food sensitivities by rotating the diet, but they can’t rotate their permanently installed artificial dental or orthopedic restorations.  The reaction to dental and orthopedic materials is very subtle. Most people do not even notice that anything is happening since they experience no immediate symptoms, but there can still be a reaction taking place and disease can manifest in the long run. The immune system react to toxic materials as if they were infections or just toxic substances, and it will begin to work overtime to remove the “infection” from the body, although this can obviously never occur as long as the substances remain in the mouth or body. Often these materials are placed with no investigation into potential problems because the dentists or doctors themselves are unaware of the hazards.

The dental and orthopedic materials used today have all been developed with “most people” in mind. Most people can put up with a bit of toxicity, immune reactivity and galvanic stress. However, there are outliers, and perhaps their numbers are growing, who can’t stand up to those stresses as well as others. The prevalence of multiple chemical sensitivities (MCS) has been reported to be somewhere between 12 and 33% in the general population (meaning that 12 to 33 percent of people will eventually develop diseases when foreign materials are inserted in the body or teeth). Thirty three percent is equivalent to 1 in 3 - the same number as people getting cancer in modern society.

People with low-functioning enzymes in critical detoxification pathways, can’t excrete the chemicals they are exposed to effectively, and essentially are poisoned. Some dental materials, including fluoride, destroys enzymes, making it impossible for the body to get rid of toxins.

Withou enzymes, the body cannot excrete chemicals and toxins.

Some materials are toxic to all people.  These include:

  • Fluoride (most often used in dentistry restorations)

  • Mercury (used in dentistry restorations)

  • Arsenic

  • Beryllium

  • Lead

  • Nickel (major component in stainless steel, often used as dental and orthopedic material)

  • Thallium

  • Uranium

  • Cesium
