Fluoride Free Dental Choices
Fluoride Free Dental Choices
The companies on the left manufacture fluoride free white dental restorative products. However, these materials may be free from fluoride, but they still contain plastic, which is toxic. Also - none of these products are available in South Africa.
There used to be several distributors of fluoride free plastic products in South Africa, but unfortunately they have all closed down because there were only a few dentists who ever bought their products. For that reason, choices are limited to the following:
All composites sold in South Africa contain fluoride. Filtek Z250 contains the least fluoride of all composites sold in South Africa. The amounts of fluoride in Filtek Z250 are 'miniscule'. However, the product contains high amounts of zirconium and plastic.
Another choice is to use porcelain in-lays and on-lays. All porcelain contains aluminum or lithium discilicate (which leaks white phosphor). Ensure that the in-lays are applied with fluoride free cement. The only one available in South Africa is CONSTIC. Alternatively, import products such as Panavia 21 (best fluoride free plastic product) and take them to your dentist. All porcelain cements contain plastic.
