There are two types of fluoride. Calcium Fluoride, which appears naturally in underground water supplies and soil.

On the other hand, the type of fluorides added to dental products, some municipal water supplies, beverages and foods are waste products of the nuclear, aluminum, and the phosphate (fertilizer) industries. These types of fluorides are 85 times more toxic than naturally occurring calcium fluoride.

Naturally occurring fluoride is much less toxic than industrial fluoride, but it is still toxic enough to render significant harm to the human skeleton.  There are several documented cases of people in India drinking natural water and other cases of heavy tea drinkers in other countries who developed fluorosis.

Fluoride sources

Main Sources of modern fluoride

  1. White tooth colored fillings (waste product, not natural)

  2. Toothpaste and Mouthwash (waste product, not natural)

  3. Water (naturally occurring or added). Rand Water, major supplier of water to Gauteng, fluoridates tap water, in spite of the fact that other countries are moving away from fluoridation because research has repeatedly shown that fluoride added to the public water supply, does not reduce cavities, delivers no discernible health benefit, and causes a higher incidence of adverse health effects including fluorosis; cancers; genetic damage; bone pathology; trans placental and brain transport; histological brain, artery, and kidney damage; and neurological impairment. 4. Black Tea (naturally occurring in soil where tea is grown)

  5. Rock Salt such as Black Rock Salt or Pink Himalayan Rock Salt.(naturally occurring)

  6. Drugs which contain industrial fluoride:  Prozac (fluoxetine), Rohypnol (flunitrazepam), Diflucan (fluconazole), Flixonase or Flixotide (fluticasone), Stelazine (trifluoperazine), Fluanxol or Depoxol (flupenthixol) or Floxapen (flucloxacillin)

  7. Fluoride supplements
